2021 Space Day Info
The gates open at 10:30am when families can enjoy all the marvels of space amidst the waterpark's high-speed tube and raft slides, free-fall body slides, Texas-sized wave pool, winding lazy river and four-story children's Gully Washer. Guests can meet Orbit, the Houston Astros lovable mascot, while children will enjoy costumed astronauts and of out-of-this-world, space-themed craft stations.
Space Day will come closer to Earth starting at 4:30pm when the RE/MAX Skydiving Team performs high above the skies of Typhoon Texas. Guests can also celebrate space from high above the waterpark as tethered hot air balloon rides, an exclusive offering for the first 100 season pass holders who sign up, operate from 5:30pm - 8:30 pm. Both the skydiving team and hot air balloon rides are weather permitting.
When the sun goes down, Space Day will continue as several Typhoon Texas attractions will be bathed in brilliant neon lights starting at 8 p.m. leading up to the day's grand finale, a six-minute fireworks show starting at 10pm. The park and festivities will close at the conclusion of the fireworks show.
Separate admission is not required for Space Day. Space Day
is a family-friendly event.
Laser, fog, strobes, and other multi-sensory effect machines will be in use
during this event. The Island, including the Gully Washer and Buckaroo
Bayou, will close at dusk.
